Directed by Martin L'Herault
Author Rick Cleveland, who has written for THE WEST WING and HOUSE OF CARDS, demonstrates that he can make government leaders engaging on stage as well.
Former presidents Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Regan, and George H. W. Bush joined the incumbent president, Bill Clinton, at the 1994 funeral of former president Richard Nixon in Yorba Linda, California. It had been more than twenty years since the world's most exclusive “Presidents” club had lost a member through death. FIVE PRESIDENTS is an 85-minute imagining of what might they have chatted about while gathered prior to the services to begin. Maybe some soul searching among great men so rarely together or, would these leaders of the free world prefer banter, small talk, jokes or petty bickering?
FIVE PRESIDENTS is a smart and funny drama/comedy.
Still a relative "newcomer" to the Minnesota theatre community, Martin is very appreciative of the people he has had the pleasure to work with in the area.
Directing credits include: 1776, A Visual Look At Bob Dylan (U.W.-Eau Claire), Veronica's Room (Snug Alley Theatre), The Boyfriend, Music Man (Gard Theater),and What The Butler Saw( Pacific Art Center).
Additionally he was a co-Director for The New York Comedy Repertory Ensemble.
